The Importance of Early Visits

On average, baby teeth start to appear around four to six months of age. What you can’t see is the permanent teeth that are already starting to grow in their gums.

Keeping baby teeth healthy is very important. They hold a space for the permanent teeth. Normally, a healthy baby tooth stays in place until the permanent tooth is ready to appear. This gives the new tooth plenty of room to erupt without any problem.

When a baby tooth is lost too soon because of decay or disease, it can lead to all sorts of dental problems in the future. One big concern is that the permanent teeth may come in crooked and someday require braces. With proper brushing and a healthy diet, we can prevent this from happening

Keeping Your Child’s Teeth Healthy

We like to see kids by their first birthday. This may seem early, but we want to take a look at your child’s mouth to see how their teeth are doing. We will also use this time to get your child used to us so they feel more comfortable each time they visit.

As a parent, you can do a lot to help. We’ll show you how to brush your child’s teeth and talk to you about the type of diet they should follow. Your efforts at home will help keep their teeth healthy and start them off with a positive feeling about dental care.
